August 6, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Commemorate the Bombing of Hiroshima
August 6, 2017. 12:00 Noon to 2:00 pm
On Sunday, August 6, from noon to 2 pm, Doylestown Friends Meeting will solemnly commemorate the bombing of Hiroshima, as we have annually since 1985.
We will gather at the corner of Main & State Streets in Doylestown. 8 large “Abolish Nuclear Weapons” banners will be flown and origami paper cranes will be handed out to passersby. Literature will also be available on the global ban treaty.
We respectfully request that signage at this rally be strictly focused on the topic of abolishing nuclear weapons.
Participants are warmly invited to join Doylestown Meeting beforehand to worship in the manner of Friends at 10 am at 95 East Oakland Ave. Or, you can plan to arrive at the Meetinghouse between 11 am and 11:45 am for some social time prior to to walking over to the vigil location together. Of course you can join in the vigil at any time to join your voice to ours in support of an international ban on nuclear weapons.
Please park on the street & not in the Meeting House driveway unless you have handicapped plates.
