“Meet Your Neighbor” Initiative—September 27, Harrisburg

The Community Responders’ Network (CRN) is launching a “Meet Your Neighbor” initiative with the goal of having members of local houses of worship meet neighbors who are different than themselves.

The initiative is being kicked off with an Orientation Meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 7 pm at the YWCA Greater Harrisburg, 1101 Market Street, Harrisburg.   Interested individuals or churches should attend this session to learn about the program and how each faith community can participate. Everyone will be given implementation guidelines, resources, and contact information.

After the meeting, each faith group will contact another community they want to learn more about. This could be interfaith (i.e. Christian/Muslim), within the same faith (inner city/suburban church), or ethnic (African American/Caucasian church).  Leaders in the faith communities can decide whether their entire congregations or specific groups (i.e., youth groups, women’s groups) will be involved.  Members of the CRN Meet Your Neighbors Committee will provide assistance as requested.
