Spring has sprung and Pre-K for PA is springing into action! This week, as college basketball teams from across the country competed in the “Big Dance,” a group of about 30 preschoolers from Bright Horizons showed that investing in pre-k is a slam dunk. Pre-K for PA set up in the East Wing Rotunda for some one-on-one action with pre-k students and legislators! Check out some shots on our Facebook page.
We also kicked off a new season of Capitol Caravans with organizations from across the state walking through the halls of the Capitol to meet with legislators.
“As an advocate, I believe every child deserves high-quality pre-k options with rich play-based experiences that engage children to develop physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively,” said Teresa Pizzella of the Playful Pittsburgh Collaborative and PAEYC, one of this week’s caravaners. “I hope that going to Harrisburg will send a message that pre-k should be a top legislative priority in the 2017-18 session.”
The Pre-K for PA Capitol Caravan will continue throughout the spring and include groups from all corners of Pennsylvania to help establish Pre-K for PA as a persistent presence in Harrisburg during the current legislative session.
