Act Now to Protect DACA & Pass the DREAM Act

From NETWORK (http://www.networklobby.org):

December 12 marks the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the patron saint of young people in the Catholic tradition. Our faith teaches us to love our neighbor and take care of the migrant. As the end of the year approaches, let us use this feast as an opportunity to share our support for young immigrants in the United States.

Due to congressional inaction since the announcement that Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) would end, millions of our nation’s young immigrant children are uncertain of their future. In observing the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, let us ask Congress to protect our immigrant youth and pass the best legislative solution, the Dream Act, before the end of the year. (S.1615/H.R.3440)

Support the Dream Act today!

Call your Representative: 1-888-496-3502 (or find a direct dial number at http://www.house.gov).

Then, call our Senators: Dial 1-888-410-0619 (Call twice to reach both your Senators); alternatively, you can call directly—find contact information:

When you call, here’s what you might say:

“As a person of faith and your constituent from [CITY, STATE], and on the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the patron saint of young people, I ask you to pass the Dream Act now. Because the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program has stopped accepting renewals, more than 700,000 young people will go without the opportunity to work, raise a family, and pursue their dreams. This goes against my faith teaching. I urge you to support the passage of the Dream Act of 2017 (S.1615/H.R.3440) before the end of the year.”

NETWORK is committed to making sure the Dream Act becomes law so our nation’s Dreamers can continue to work, study, and live in the United States without fear of deportation. We want this to become law by the end of the year – which means Congress has two weeks left to act. So far, more than 11,000 Dreamers have lost DACA protection and an additional 122 people lose DACA protection every day. This is urgent!

Take 10 minutes today to support the Dream Act: call your Representative at 1-888-496-3502, then call your Senators at 1-888-410-0619!
