2016 marks the 20th anniversary of welfare reform–and TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) rolls have been declining in Pennsylvania. It isn’t clear what is happening with the families that no longer are receiving this benefit.

Community Legal Services in Philadelphia issued a report in August 2016 called Mending the Safety Net: Why Pennsylvania Must Restore Its TANF Program to Protect Its Neediest Families.

The Pennsylvania Council of Churches is joining CLIP (Coalition for Low Income Pennsylvanians) in calling upon organizations and individuals to sign a letter to Governor Wolf in support of fixes to Pennsylvania’s TANF program suggested in the report. Go to http://org2.salsalabs.com/o/5415/p/dia/action3/common/public/?action_KEY=23540 if you are an individual or go to http://org2.salsalabs.com/o/5415/p/dia/action3/common/public/?action_KEY=23535 if you are signing on behalf of an organization.

You are welcome to sign on behalf of your organization and sign as an individual as well!
