Tell Congress to Protect Critical Housing & Community Development Programs

From Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania (http://www.housingalliancepa.org/):

The Administration has proposed to cut this year’s funding for critical housing and community development programs. This is in addition to cuts that have been proposed for fiscal year 2018. We can’t wait to say NO. Click below to tell your Member of Congress and our Senators to invest in our communities and our families.

The administration has published an FY17 Supplemental Offset Request which would

  • reduce Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), USDA Rental Assistance, Emergency Food and Shelter Grants, Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), and the Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation
  • eliminate Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), Choice Neighborhoods, and the Self-Help Homeownership Opportunity Program for the balance of the current fiscal year. Not only would this reduce current funding, it would set the stage for drastic cuts in FY18.

We have made great progress toward ending homelessness, strengthening families, and revitalizing communities. We must keep moving forward.
