Act Today to Tell Your Rep to Reject the Tax Plan

From the Economic Policy Institute (http://www.epi.org/):

If you thought that House Republican leaders’ tax plan couldn’t get any worse, it just did.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) is reporting that if passed, the tax plan could trigger $400 billion in cuts to Medicare over the next decade. So, even after failing to pass Trumpcare, Paul Ryan could still get his wish of taking health security away from vulnerable Americans. All this to pay for tax cuts tilted egregiously towards the richest Americans.

The House is voting today on this disastrous tax plan. Call your Representative right now and tell them to reject Donald Trump and Republican leaders’ tax plan at 877-795-7862.

Here’s a suggested call script:

My name is _______. I live in TOWN, STATE and I’m a constituent of the Representative. I want Representative [NAME] to OPPOSE the House tax plan that delivers huge tax cuts to America’s wealthiest families and corporations. Instead of tax breaks for hedge funds and private equity firms that are paid for with cuts to Medicare and Medicaid, we need a tax plan that invests in our country’s future.

If you tweet, please consider doing that as well. Twitter handles are below. Here is a sample tweet:

.@(Representative) as your constituent I urge you to REJECT the #HouseTaxPlan that pays for tax cuts for corporations & wealthy by cutting #Medicare & #Medicaid @pachrchadvocacy #ProtectOurCare

We stopped Trumpcare because millions of Americans stood up and made our voices heard. We must stand together now to stop a disastrous tax plan that would result in an even higher share of income going to the top 1 percent while putting programs like Medicare and Medicaid in the crosshairs.
