The #BerksKids Don’t Belong in Detention—Take Action

From Amnesty International USA (http://www.amnestyusa.org):

The Berks County Residential Center is just one of the family detention centers that still exists in this country. It’s also “home” for Antonio, Carlos, Josue, and Michael, four children – all under five years old – who have spent the last 500 days in “baby jail.” These children, along with their mothers, fled horrific violence and danger and came to the U.S to seek safety. Instead of refuge, they were locked up. We need to close detention centers like Berks, not create more.

Sign Now to Stop Trump’s Anti- Immigrant Agenda.

Right now, President Trump is asking Congress to fund his hateful agenda on immigrants. He wants $3 million for his abusive enforcement policies, including more than $1 million to put more families in detention even though they are fleeing here to seek safety.

President Trump’s policies of bigotry and xenophobia show the true cost of fear but together we can stop them. Trump’s budget proposal can’t move forward without the support of your members of Congress. Before this moves forward, make sure your members of Congress know where you stand.

Tell your members of Congress to reject President Trump’s abusive enforcement agenda.

Antonio, Carlos, Josue, and Michael need you. While their current deportation order has been blocked they are still being held in detention. There is no reason for these children to be locked up. Seeking asylum is not a crime.

Together we can stop Trump’s anti- refugee agenda because children deserve safety, not detention.
