Urge the President to Protect Vulnerable Immigrant Families

From the PICO National Network (http://www.piconetwork.org):

Who will care for my sick daughter if I am forced to leave the country? What will happen to my education – to all the money I just paid for school – if the next administration rescinds my Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)?

These are the questions our immigrant neighbors are asking daily – mothers and fathers living in fear of their families being torn apart by the incoming Administration. But instead of being paralyzed by this fear, they fight for their communities. It is time for President Obama to do the same.

Add your name with ours today at http://salsa3.salsalabs.com/o/2115/p/dia/action3/common/public/?action_KEY=19642: Urge President Obama to protect our vulnerable families with a presidential pardon for civil immigration infractions and low-level, nonviolent drug offenses.

These mothers, fathers, sons, daughters and other loved ones are members of our communities and congregations – they are our sisters and brothers.

We need President Obama to stand up for our families before he leaves office and protect them from a system that is criminalizing, separating and deporting the people we love.

On Thursday, December 15, a delegation of PICO clergy and partners will deliver our message to the White House, urging President Obama to stand in the light of compassion by granting presidential pardons for civil immigration infractions and clemency for low-level, nonviolent drug offenses.

Will you join us in protecting our neighbors by adding your name today?

Our faith calls us to resist the false hierarchy of human value – the lie that some lives matter more than others. We can resist with love and with actions.
