Though Temporarily Blocked, Act to Tell Our Senators to Stop the Muslim Ban from Harming Families

From Amnesty International USA (http://www.amnestyusa.org):

Fatima’s sons narrowly survived bombs and bullets in Yemen. They hid under the stairs as bombs rained down on their neighborhood. They survived on stale bread and water. Eventually, they literally made a run for it—dodging gunfire.

They escaped with their lives but they’re still trapped.

Last night courts in Hawaii and Maryland temporarily blocked Trump’s new Muslim ban. This is a victory and another blow to the Trump administration’s bigoted agenda, although it’s only temporary. Now we need Congress to step up and stop this ban for good.

Fatima desperately wants to be reunited with her sons. Once upon a time she was hopeful. Not anymore.

Ever since Trump’s Muslim ban, Fatima (not her real name) has been living “in a state of constant fear,” she told Amnesty International.

Her sons escaped Yemen, but they are stuck in Djibouti. Their lives are in limbo. Without them, hers is, too.

Tell Your Senator: We Need You to Stop This Ban

A former Fulbright Scholar with a master’s degree in medical health physics, Fatima is running up debts in order to send her son’s money. It’s because of this senseless Muslim ban – it’s just as inhumane and irrational as the first version.

But Congress still isn’t doing anything. With the court battles continuing, we need Congress to act and provide a permanent solution. We can’t let Trump’s bigoted agenda wreck lives.

We need Congress to act – for families like Fatima’s, for all our families.
