CBO Analysis Shows New Health Care Bill Would Hurt Most Vulnerable

From the PICO National Network (http://www.piconetwork.org):

If it wasn’t obvious before, analysis done by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) shows that Trumpcare would rob 23 million people of their health care and make radical changes to Medicaid. All while providing the wealthiest one percent, insurance companies, and prescription drug manufacturers $600 billion in tax breaks [1].

As people of strong moral conscience, there is no way this can be spun to reflect our values of putting families first over profit.

Call the Senate with us today at http://salsa3.salsalabs.com/o/2115/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=20582: Tell them to protect families by rejecting Trump’s budget and the Affordable Care Act (ACA) repeal.

At the age of 48, Kelly – daughter of Rev. Dr. Emmett Baker, a board member of PICO federation Missouri Faith Voices – died from a simple blood clot. Had the state of Missouri accepted Medicaid expansion, Kelly would’ve had the medical coverage she needed that her employer wasn’t providing, and her daughter would not be orphaned.

The coverage that could have saved Kelly’s life is what Trumpcare would take away from millions of families.

What does it mean to say that everyone is created ‘in the image of God’ and then be content to let millions of our brothers and sisters go without health care or with inadequate health care?

That’s why we’re calling on the Senate to reject Trumpcare and create legislation that protects and builds on the ACA, Medicaid and Medicare. Everyone should be able to see a doctor when they need one.

Call your Senator with us today: Tell them to put families first by rejecting Trump’s budget and repealing the ACA.
