Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, the Allegheny County Health Department, the Pennsylvania Interfaith Impact Network, and Christian Associates of Southwest Pennsylvania have teamed up to prepare a resource for congregations called “Preventing Gun Violence.” It provides information on strategy, sermon starters, worship and other resources, and a bulletin insert.

    Good Afternoon,

On Saturday, November 30th, there will be a gun violence conference at Canaan Baptist Church, 5430 Pulaski Avenue in Germantown. The primary sponsor of the conference in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Omega Omega Chapter. Our goal is to bring stakeholders together to establish a coalition that will work together to reduce gun violence in the City of Philadelphia. I scrolled down and was delighted to see that you have gun violence guidelines. We are asking for a designee from your organization to be a panelist at the conference. One of the panels will discuss the role of the church. We have a resource table for you to provide information regarding POWER. We also want the attendees to have access to your pamphlet and hear what you recommend to address this crisis. Please contact me asap.

    Regards,

Carlene Neal, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.,
