Tell PA’s Senators: Vote NO on Budget that Slashes Human Needs Programs to Cover Tax Cuts for the Rich

From the Coalition on Human Needs (http://www.chn.org):

The Senate will vote on a budget next week that has only one purpose: to tee up massive tax cuts for the rich and corporations.

Please send emails to your Senators to say:

Vote no on the budget that slashes Medicaid, SNAP, education, housing and more to pay for trillions of dollars in tax cuts for the rich.

The Trump Administration and its allies in Congress are determined to cut taxes by trillions of dollars, and their plan overwhelmingly benefits the richest one percent and profitable corporations.  The budget the Senate will vote on next week would make this easier by allowing tax cut legislation to pass in the Senate with only a simple majority.

If these tax cuts are enacted, you – and the vast majority of Americans – will pay for them.  We will pay because the budget assumes more than $5 trillion in cuts to services over the next decade.  The poor and near-poor will be hurt the most, but everyone who benefits from decent schools, public health, environmental and consumer protections, maintained roads, affordable housing, Medicaid and pretty much every other domestic investment will lose.

Remember how they tried to repeal the health care law to pay for tax cuts for the rich, health insurance companies and other health industry corporations?  This is the same fight, only threatening even more of what our nation really needs.  Congress couldn’t pass the repeal and those tax cuts because so many people spoke out.

Please keep speaking out:  go to http://org.salsalabs.com/o/125/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=22451 to tell your Senators to vote no.
