Calls Still Needed: Tell PA Representatives to Vote NO on ACA Repeal/AHCA

From Insure PA (http://www.insurepa.org/):

It’s been a dramatic 24 hours. As of yesterday, we heard that Congressional leadership had delayed the House vote on the bill that would dismantle Medicaid & strip 24 million Americans of their health coverage.  Now, we are hearing that Congress will vote today whether or not they have the votes to pass the bill.  President Trump has stated that the House will move on to other issues if the bill does not pass the House.

It is important to note that changes have been made to the bill that make a harmful bill even worse. By agreeing to repeal the laws requiring essential health benefits, Congress has essentially dropped protections for pre-existing conditions, bans on annual and lifetime limits, and provisions that prevent women from being charged more than men.

Current timelines indicate that the final vote will take place this afternoon, so it is absolutely crtiical that your Representative hears from you today.  Here’s what you can do:

  1. Call your Representative at 866-426-2631 to ask them to vote “no” on the bill or drop into your Rep.’s local office to tell your personal story of why this bill would harm you, your family, or your community. If you need some talking points to get the conversation going, they are available at http://www.insurepa.org/repeal-plan.
