Tell the White House—US Should Be a Safe Place for Refugees

From the National Religious Campaign Against Torture (http://www.nrcat.org):

Thursday night, President Trump responded to the Syrian government’s use of chemical weapons on its own people by bombing an air base in Syria.  President Trump said of the chemical attack: “It was a slow and brutal death for so many…  Even beautiful babies were cruelly murdered in this very barbaric attack. No child of God should ever suffer such horror.”

We agree with President Trump that no child of God should ever have to suffer such horror and we ask you to join us in praying for those caught in the Syrian civil war.  At the same time, though, we must note that President Trump’s bombs do nothing for the half a million Syrians who have already died, nor for the millions who have been driven from their homes by Syrian government and ISIS attacks.  These people need sanctuary – not more bombs.

Please write to President Trump and your Members of Congress at http://org.salsalabs.com/o/2162/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=21555 and tell them that the U.S. should be a place of refuge for all those who are fleeing violence and terror.  We pray that this will be the event that opens President Trump’s heart and changes his mind.  If not, then Congress should act to ensure that refugees are welcome here.

Please write now so that our government knows that you welcome refugees.
